Most orders to residential addresses in the United States are shipped via the U.S. Postal Service using Priority Mail. Most orders shipped to schools or businesses are shipped via UPS ground service.
Orders to destinations outside the United States are usually shipped via the U.S. Postal Service using International Priority Mail.
Alternative carriers or shipment methods may be specified with an order. Simply include your preferences in the Order Notes section of your order and we will follow them. We will contact you with any questions.
Unless specified, we will choose the shipper we believe will provide the quickest, most economical service to your destination.
Most orders are shipped by the end of the next business day after they are received. We will notify you if we are unable to ship within a week of receiving your order.
Orders shipped via the Postal Service within the United States usually arrive within 2-4 days. Orders shipped via UPS arrive within 1-6 business days, depending on the distance from our shipping site in Massachusetts.
Orders shipped to destinations outside the United States usually arrive within 7-10 days.
We ship via the electronic systems with both the U.S. Postal Service and United Parcel Service. When we enter a shipment, both services send email notification to the customer with the shipment date and tracking number.
The base shipping charge for an order shipped within the United States is $6.00. The base shipping charge for an order to Canada is $9.00 and to other countries is $15. This covers orders that fit within a Priority Mail flat-rate envelope including Terrapin Logo or one or two books.
If an order requires a Priority Mail flat-rate box, the base charge is $10.00 within the United States, $15.00 to Canada, and $40.00 to other countries. The Bee-Bot or Pro-Bot robots and/or Terrapin Logo and several books fit in a flat-rate box.
The Terrapin shopping cart will calculate the shipping cost for your order based on the size and weight of the products you select.
When am I charged for my order?
Your order is charged when it has been reviewed and prepared for shipment, not automatically when you check out and submit your order.
We will contact you by email or telephone if we have any questions about your order.
Does Terrapin accept purchase orders?
Terrapin accepts purchase orders from public and private schools in the United States and Canada and automatically extends 30-day payment terms to the school. Purchase orders should be on the official school or district form and include bill to and ship to information along with contact information for questions. They may be mailed or faxed.
Schools which use purchase orders to buy supplies may use the Terrapin web site and shopping cart to do so as well. Using the shopping cart to place an order can expedite shipping by capturing all of the necessary information and providing notice that the purchase order is on the way so that products may be assembled and ready to go when the purchase order arrives.
When entering an order for a school, be sure to check the box in the shopping cart indicating that you are using a purchase order. This will activate the purchase order option as a form of payment. The order is prepared when entered via the shopping cart and shipment is made when the purchase order is received by mail or fax.
