Go, Logo! is a Logo textbook and workbook designed to be used in a traditional classroom, home school, or independent-study environment. Go, Logo! combines instruction and practice, weaving them together to create a fun course in Logo programming, geometry, and mathematics.
Go, Logo! introduces and utilizes 100 Logo commands and uses them to illustrate basic programming concepts and skills. Fundamental math concepts are presented with the connection between math and Logo highlighted. Skill development is reinforced with exercises, practices, and computations which follow each instructional section. (See Table of Contents)
Go, Logo! is targeted at middle school students and also works well with mathematically gifted upper elementary school students and for math and programming reinforcement for high school students. The author, Marla Weiss, developed Go, Logo! over the course of eight years as a math teacher at an independent school and an academic summer program. During this time, several students using the book won awards in the International Computer Problem Solving Contest and developed and practiced background skills in preparation for the College Board AP Computer Science A exams.
Go, Logo! Solutions is a copy of the Go, Logo! text and workbook that includes answers to the problems on all of the worksheets. It is designed as a reference for the instructor who is using Go, Logo! with one or more students. (View a sample practice exercise with answers appended.)
